Guitar Shielding & Hum Reduction in Redding, CA

Copper tape, conductive paint, and pickguard shielding to cut hum and buzz.

Guitars with single coils pick up hum and buzz from lights, amps, and anything electrical nearby. Shielding helps by lining the cavities with a grounded layer that blocks a lot of that noise.

We shield with copper tape or conductive paint depending on the guitar, then tie everything to one clean ground so it actually works. Pickguards and control plates get shielded too, since they cover the electronics.

Shielding won’t make single coils dead silent, but it often makes a big difference, especially on Strats, Teles, and P90 guitars. If your guitar is noisy, we’ll also check the grounds and wiring while it’s open.

Bring it in and tell us when the noise happens. Most shielding jobs are done in a day or two.
